MOTHER NATURE GODDESS PARTY

 

Theme Concept: The expectant mother is made to feel like a goddess at this low-key gathering. A nice theme for showers located in restaurants.

Guest of Honor Profile:  For the natural child-birthing, yoga loving mama.    

Invitations:  Purchase handmade paper created with dried flowers and leaves from a stationary store.  Write your invitation just as you would a whimsical note.  Fold the note and mail in a vellum envelope.

Décor: Cloths with organza overlays on the tables.  Choose striking color combinations appropriate to the season.  In autumn a Burgundy colored cloth with a pumpkin colored overlay is amazing. Flowers can be fiery orange, yellow, and red roses with purple hydrangea in the mix.  For spring choose lilac or celadon colored organza over an ivory cloth. Choose pastel colored flowers such as roses and lilacs.  Or use a celadon colored cloth with a sheer leaf-patterned fabric as an overlay and use white tulips in the centerpieces.   

Menu:  Exotic Indian Cuisine or an assortment of salads.

Cake Décor:  Make lemon or yellow cake with layers of sliced fresh fruit and whipped cream.  Clean baby ivy and fresh flowers and place on top and hanging over cake. 

Games / Activities: Favor exchange. Pre-printed coupons with favors that the new parents may need are assembled into a little booklet and passed around the shower.  Guests sign their name on the coupon or favor that they will perform for the parents.  For example: 1 Free Night Babysitting, 1 Home-Cooked Meal, 1 Trip to the Grocery Store.  

Music: Music from India, or Hindu music.

Party Favors: Beautiful scented soap or body care products, flower seed packets.
